Love, Laughter, and Tradition: Liz and Maciej's Unforgettable Wedding at Brisbane House Hotel in Largs, Ayrshire - 07/06/2023

Introduction:

Brisbane House Hotel in the picturesque town of Largs, Ayrshire, set the stage for a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished traditions. It was an absolute delight to capture the wedding of Liz and Maciej, two wonderful souls who embarked on their journey of love in this beautiful coastal setting.

A Heartfelt Ceremony:

The ceremony at Brisbane House Hotel was a rollercoaster of emotions, from heartfelt tears to infectious laughter. As Liz and Maciej exchanged vows, the love between them was palpable. What made the ceremony even more special was Liz's mother, who surprised everyone with a beautiful hymn that earned a round of applause from the delighted guests.

Polish Wedding Traditions:

The wedding took on an enchanting twist as Maciej's parents performed a heartfelt Polish wedding tradition. The tradition is that the parents present the couple with a loaf of bread sprinkled with salt and a goblet of wine, saying “According to Old Polish tradition, we greet you with bread and salt so that your home might always enjoy abundance." This symbolises their wishes for the newlyweds to never go hungry or be in need.

Another captivating Polish tradition followed, where the couple was presented with two glasses, one filled with vodka and the other with water. Liz had to choose without knowing which was which, and tradition has it that the one with the vodka will be the dominant partner in the relationship – a delightful and lighthearted moment.

Abbey Road and Teacup Rides:

After the ceremony, the entire wedding party and guests gathered outside for a group photograph, capturing the love and joy that surrounded Liz and Maciej. Then, we ventured to Largs shorefront, where we recreated the iconic Beatles Abbey Road crossing at the traffic lights near Nardinis – a shot filled with nostalgia and charm. Next, we enjoyed the teacup rides, with laughter echoing through the air, as the couple and their loved ones celebrated their special day in style.

Warm Greetings at the Ferry Terminal:

The journey continued as we strolled along Largs' bustling shorefront towards the ferry terminal. Passersby congratulated the couple, and they even received a joyful honk from a ferry arriving at the harbor, adding an unexpected touch of magic to the day.

Unplanned Laughter:

A stop for ice cream along the way led to spontaneous moments, including a hilarious mishap when the bridesmaids attempted to lift Maciej but ended up dropping him on the grass, with Liz joining him in a fit of laughter. These candid moments are what make weddings truly unforgettable.

Drinks Reception and Dinner:

Returning to Brisbane House Hotel, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delightful drinks reception in the fantastic weather. They sat outside, basking in the joy of the day before moving inside for dinner and speeches, where heartfelt toasts and warm wishes filled the air.

Liz and Maciej's wedding at Brisbane House Hotel in Largs, was a day filled with love, laughter, and beautiful traditions. From the heartfelt ceremony to the playful moments and warm greetings along Largs' shorefront, it was a day to remember. As their photographer, I was honoured to capture the essence of their love story and the genuine happiness that surrounded them.
